About Us

Originally established in 1992, Morton Street Dance Center is one of Baltimore's best and most comprehensive dance schools in the Baltimore, MD metropolitan area.

Morton Street's exceptional teaching staff offers exciting, age-appropriate, developmental instruction for professional level dancers and every member of the family ages 3 to adult.

The youngest students study creative movement and pre-dance which offer a fun introduction to ballet and modern. Older dancers receive technical training in classical ballet, pointe, pre-pointe, modern, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and African dance.

By audition, students may be invited to join our performing Repertory ensembles.

Repertory performs frequently throughout the year in venues within Baltimore and throughout Maryland.

Our students have attended various summer dance programs across the country and attended performing arts and dance magnet middle and high schools including Deer Park Middle Magnet, Sudbrook Magnet Middle School, Baltimore School for the Arts, George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology, and Mercy High School. Many students students have also pursued dance degrees at University of the Arts, Goucher College, Ohio University, University of Maryland, and University of Michigan, among others.

Morton Street presents an outstanding and wildly popular Annual Spring Concert Production. The school also offers several Summer Dance Programs for all ages including dance intensives, dance classes, and Storybook Ballet. Nationally renowned faculty join us for our summer programs.

We begin the winter holiday season with our beautiful Nutcracker Production. Our Nutcracker is proceeded by our Annual Nutcracker Tea.

Morton Street Dance Center, Inc. students are supported, in part, by the Dance Foundation of Maryland, Inc. a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
