DONNA L. JACOBS is founder and artistic director of Baltimore’s Full Circle Dance Company as well as founder and director of Morton Street Dance Center, Inc. She is an award-winning choreographer whose work has probed highly contested issues that directly affect the community. Ms. Jacobs’s work with Full Circle has been highlighted in local media including the Baltimore Sun, City Paper, Baltimore Magazine, and WYPR Baltimore Public Radio, as well as in national dance publications. Her choreography has been featured at the New York City Broadway Dance Center’s “Best of...Choreographers’ Showcase,” the Maryland Council for Dance Festival, and Baltimore’s Artscape festival.

 

She is a two-time recipient of the Mark Ryder Award from the Howard County Arts Council, a Baker Artist Award bgrant, a Ruby Grant from the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance, an NEA grant, and awards for excellence in the arts from the Dream for It Foundation and the Baltimore Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Ms. Jacobs is a member of The Daily Record’s Circle of Excellence, named as one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women three times.
